Researchers' night– the road to research but also to innovation
Abstract
“Researchers’ night” event is part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie project and attracts more than 1 million people each year. This major event offers to the general public an opportunity to meet with researchers and to take part in activities for the purpose of highlighting the attractiveness of a career in research and its societal impacts. Bearing in mind that this year have reached the 10th anniversary of the first edition of the event “Researchers’ night”, participants had the opportunity to meet the world of researchers for a day and discover the various scientific disciplines, but Researchers’ night event hosted events that took place simultaneously in 280 cities in Europe and beyond. At the Museum of the city of Tallinn, Estonia, curiousenthusiasts’ visitors had the opportunity to learn how to make mask for protection against infectious diseases. In Poland, Poznan, racing cars enthusiasts have been able to see how to build a Formula 1 car. At the public library in Birmingham, United Kingdom, visitors have been able to generate and take home their own hologram. And these are just some of the events hosted by the Europe on 25 September 2015.
